What motivated you to invest in music?
Exploring new horizons, investing in passions, and adopting a forward-thinking approach to investment solutions.
What is your vision for the future of music rights as investment assets?
The world of music and how we consume it are evolving rapidly, as we’ve seen over the last few years. One thing is certain: the love for music never changes. The market consistently adapts to new realities, and major players are working to strengthen its foundation. I leave it to them to defend the sector’s interests.
What proportion of your overall portfolio is allocated to music rights compared to other types of investments?
Having spent most of my academic years in apprenticeship, I was introduced to the world of investing early on. This gave me the opportunity to start building a diversified portfolio. As the saying goes, “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.”
Currently, Bolero represents around 30% of my portfolio, which breaks down as follows:
• Stock market (via Trade Republic): 37%
• Music rights (via Bolero): 34%
• Equity crowdfunding – real estate (via Bricks): 20%
• Equity crowdfunding – start-ups (via Crowdcube or directly): 6%
• Cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin and USDC): 2%
• Equity crowdfunding – collector’s items (via Konvi): 1%
What is your overall strategy for investing in music?
As one of Bolero’s first active users, I’ve been able to refine my strategy over the months by observing others as well. Initially, I invested in nearly all published titles, allocating more capital to my personal favorites—tracks that resonate with me emotionally, that I know well, and that show promising KPIs like strong streaming numbers, attractive percentages per share, and consistent royalty histories.
Over time, my selection criteria have become more refined. I now prioritise well-known titles—not necessarily to the general public, but tracks that maintain their appeal over time. I also focus on artists who stay in the spotlight, regularly booked for festivals and events.
Lately, I’ve learned to detach myself from assets by selling them on the secondary market—a process that used to seem more complicated. My goal is to generate cash quickly and reinvest it. This is why I’ve started selling some of my rarest assets.
I’ve never withdrawn a single euro from Bolero or my investments in general. My strategy revolves around the snowball effect: I reinvest everything I earn.
I see myself as someone planting seeds, willing to wait years to see the results and reap the rewards, as long as the “plant” keeps growing.
What are your top 3 music rights' holdings in your portfolio, and why did you choose them?
My top 3 positions? JuL tracks! In my day-to-day life, I listen to him without being one of his biggest fans, but I consider his work to age superbly. For me, he's the French rapper with the most loyal community, and his old sounds regularly come back to the fore.
A good example is Courtoisie, which now gets three times more plays than before last year's TikTok trend. And it's not an isolated case: between TikTok and the influencers, many tracks are getting a second life.
We saw this with a JUL track that climbed back up the charts just because Loris and Adèle Exarchopoulos listened to it together in a YouTube video with Loris Giuliano.
This ability to stay relevant and consistently reborn makes JUL an essential part of my portfolio.
If Bolero were to offer the Catalog Shares of your choice, which one would you prioritize, to the point of never wanting to sell it?
I'd bet on a Catalog Shares composed of tracks for commercials. The songs used in this field often come back to the same great classics, which are already timeless hits and have sometimes even become benchmarks in the advertising world. It's a niche asset, but one with enormous potential in my eyes. These titles benefit from recurrent exposure and remain relevant over the long term, making them a safe bet to keep in my portfolio.
If Bolero were to offer the Song Shares of your choice, which one would you prioritize, to the point of never wanting to sell it?
Without hesitation: Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas Is You. Even if we claim to be tired of it, this song reappears every year, breaking records.
Besides being a timeless investment, imagine saying you share SACEM royalty payouts with Mariah Carey—it might even convince my mom to try Bolero!
How did you discover Bolero?
Honestly, I can't remember exactly how I discovered Bolero.
In 2025, accessible investment solutions, especially those that allow you to start with a small amount of capital, are multiplying. But if we go back to March 2023, when I discovered Bolero, it was a different story.
Investing for individuals was not yet as democratized as it is today. Back then, it was a pain to find a platform that ticked several important boxes for me:
- Accessible on a small budget.
- A modern, French platform, with a clean design and simple navigation.
- And most importantly, a unique investment sector, breaking away from the usual options like real estate.
When I discovered Bolero, it really impressed me. It was the first time I'd come across a platform that went off the beaten track by offering to invest in music, and especially in a genre that really speaks to me: Rap.
It's a well-known adage to invest in what you know. And for me, it was a no-brainer. I grew up with this music, and it was with me throughout my teenage years. So understanding Bolero and what I could get out of it came very naturally.
What I liked about it was that it allowed me to do several things at once: build on my knowledge of rap, get a head start on a new way of investing, and above all, get started with the means I had at the time. For me, Bolero was much more than a platform: it was an opportunity to combine my passions with one of my first steps into investing.
What upcoming features or updates are you most looking forward to?
What I’m hoping for is a greater insight into daily stats. For example, a few days ago, an asset (Wejdene - Ciao) showed a significant spike in performance, and I wish this type of information had been highlighted directly, on the daily. A feature that would let you track this kind of performance in real time would be really great!
Any final words for Bolero ?
Bolero has tremendous potential. It deserves much greater recognition, as both users and the media would benefit immensely from discovering it. For instance, Raplume has a track available for investment on Bolero, and I’m almost certain they’re not even aware of it. A simple mention from them could bring in hundreds of new users—no exaggeration.
I’m convinced that Bolero could become a key player in the music industry. Initiatives like sponsoring music events or appearing on podcasts such as RapBoss would give the platform a significant boost in visibility.
Thank you to the entire team for your incredible work—keep aiming high!
